    "Time, Love And Tenderness"

Michael Bolton makes his 2nd appearance on our site this week. (His first appearance here was in 1998 -- Soul Provider.) His 1991 release, Time, Love And Tenderness was in his heyday, when he was very popular on the hit singles list, a "stud muffin" to the ladies, and he had lots of hair. This album would include his last #1 hit on the pop charts: A remake of the classic Percy Sledge tune (which Sledge himself took to #1 in 1966), "When A Man Loves A Woman."

Along with his #1 hit, there were other popular songs from this album, that were ranked highly on the hit singles chart, likewise Adult Contemporary radio stations: "Love Is A Wonderful Thing" was rising high on the chart, as I remember listening to the weekly countdown show, American Top 40, which was hosted by Shadoe Stevens. In fact, this song was on the May 12, 1991 radio broadcast, reviewed on our site, the week of January, 2002. "Time, Love And Tenderness was another popular hit as well.

As I listen to "Missing You Now," I can't help but recognize the famous soprano sax solos of Kenny G. Merging both Bolton and Kenny G together was obviously a woman's dream, having two of the most popular love-song artists together. "Forever Isn't Long Enough" is another crooning love song, yet "Missing You Now" has more potential, being with Kenny G, and having a more relaxing love song atmosphere.

"Now That I Found You" is a "mood setting" love song, where songs such as this one, can easily flutter the ladies hearts. Which we can say the same for the next 3 songs: The #1 remake "When A Man Loves A Woman," "We're Not Makin' Love Anymore" (a duet with Patti LaBelle), and "New Love." "Save Me" has the Bolton upbeat pop sound, and the album's closing tune, "Steel Bars" is another upbeat pop ditto.

For the Adult Contemporary fan and those who enjoy romantic love-songs, Michael Bolton's Time, Love And Tenderness' album title is a good description: Taking the Time, there are plenty of Love songs for all, and each song is recorded with enough Tenderness to make the album as a whole a good one, for those who enjoy this kind of music.
