Aerosmith "Rocks"
Aersomith returns with their third album on the WSVNRadio website, 1976's
Rocks. The first album was Toys In The Attic, their second was
(Get A Grip.)
This album definitely has the band from Boston as a much more
cutting and hard edged, as fans of heavy metal and hard rock in general will
enjoy this release.
The two familar songs I've recognized... the obvious first track, "Back
In The Saddle" and "Last Child." Two great songs heard on FM radio,
"Saddle" should be no stranger.
"Rats In The Cellar" maybe the least song from the album, yet the
remaining songs have a more harder edge. Songs such as "Combination,"
and "Nobody's Fault" may not be the same in rock style as the later
decades of Aerosmith.
"Sick As A Dog" is a good rocker, and a harder rocker song is
"Lick And A Promise." The album's closing song is a bit slower than
the others, "Home Tonight" has the same style as the band's much
later releases.
Rocks is for the harder edged rock fans; it has some very hard driving
songs, set in the era when most 1970s bands were in their glory in recording
hard rock material. The band would encounter drug problems, and take some
time off, but they would bounce back in strong form in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Aerosmith proved that you can get better with age, they are still rocking as
ever.
