"Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer"
Ok, it's March, and the Christmas season is practically over. But, at any time of year, Christmas music is just as accepting. "Christmas in July"
is one of those exceptions. With Spring about to emerge, "March comes in like a lion, and out like a lamb." But in most cases, winter snow in some
states are still falling, and in other states, the winter snow may not be as falling as others (the snow just may still be there, or completely melted
away). But, as mentioned, Christmas music can be accepted anytime.
Gene Autry's Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer And Other Christmas Classics contains songs released throughout the years 1947 to 1956.
Surpringly, this album was #1 on the Country albums chart, in 2018. (Coincidencally, Burl Ives Christmas album of the same name also hit the Country
albums chart, a year later.) This just proves that classic Christmas from the past, can easily be enjoyed throughout many decades that followed.
Two of the eighteen are very well-remembered: The title track "Rudloph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", was a #1 hit for Autry, and one of the
most popular Christmas songs of all-time. The other, was "Here Comes Santa Claus." Many other artists have recorded these two songs, yet
Autry's versions have always been listed as the first. Other well-known songs by Autry are on this album, including "Frosty The Snow Man,"
"The Night Before Christmas Song," "Santa Claus Is Comin' TO Town," and "Up On The Housetop." Another song that I do remember (yet I can't
remember if it was Autry's version), was "If Santa Claus Gets Your Letter."
As for the others, they are not so well-remembered Christmas songs, yet they all are great in their own rights, and the fact that they are
recorded by Gene Autry. Being from Texas, "The Night Before Christmas (In Texas, That Is)" is one, that just brings a smile and warmth to
any cold winter day or night. "Frosty The Snowman" and another snowman song, "Where Did My Snowman Go?" are those in telling great
stories of Christmas. Likewise, many songs here are of Santa Claus, and great stories put to Christmas songs here will bring smiles to all ages.
Every song is a Christmas delight. Gene Autry was of many, who would relate to great Christmas songs. Among the others were Bing Crosby,
Burl Ives, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole; the list goes on and on. Gene Autry's Rudolph The Red Nosed Reinder and Other Christmas Classics is
a classic Christmas album. It is enjoyed by all. Gene left us in 1998, at the age of 91. He was best remembered for
his music, his acting, and he even owned the California Angels
baseball team (1961-1997).
Simply add this Gene Autry album to your Christmas albums collection. Christmas music has always been enjoyed. Each song here is simple,
well-storied, and, it's an album by a Christmas legend, Gene Autry.
