    "Fast Movin' Train"

From the Goodwill Collection, again... This week we look at the debut on the WSVNRadio website, Country band Restless Heart. As mentioned in last week's review of Kathy Mattea's A Collection Of Hits, I hadn't really followed the 1980s/early 1990s Country, and wished I did. Restless Heart's Fast Movin' Train was the band's fourth album of their career, released in 1990. A good mix of Rock and Country, and more on the Country side, Restless Heart brings out 10 good Country-feeling tunes, from Fast Movin' Train.

The title track starts the album, and this song just ok; maybe it should be been placed farther along the track list. But, the album gets much better... "Dancy's Dream" (one of the album's hit singles), is more upbeat Country, and a good tune. "Sweet Auburn" is a nice, easy going Country flavored song. Another more upbeat Country tune follows, "I've Never Been So Sure." The pattern of upbeat, and nice easy going continues with the easy going and having a ballad'ish sound, "Long Lost Friend."

"A Little More Coal On The Fire" has a good Rock and Country mix. Then there's "When Somebody Loves You," which has a good soulful sound. "Lady Luck" is good Pop/Country, normally heard from the '80s Country. Likewise, "River Of Stone" also has the good 1980s/early 1990s Country sound. The album closes with "The Truth Hurts," a true Country-sounding song, where the likes of Brooks & Dunn could have recorded this song - COUNTRY song.

Fast Movin' Train has the common Country sound, heard from the 1980s decade. It is clearly having the Country sound. One band comes to mind, as I listen to this album, Shenanodah -- they were another band, that was popular in the 1980s decade of Country music.

Restless Heart has made their mark in popular Country music, having one album reach #1, and a total of six #1 Country hits. Unlike today's Country, Restless Heart definitely is a Country-sounding band. Again, the 1980s decade acheived many great Country artists, and their songs. Restless Heart is one of them. More of their music will follow here. Enjoy the great 1980s/early 1990s Country sound on F>ast Movin' Train. Good choice, good Country music.
