Hillsong United returns this week, with their 2009 release, A Cross//The Earth :: Tear Down The Walls. (Their "debut" here on WSVNRadio, was Live In Miami. Hillsong United (and their other named projects), are from the Christian music genre. Powerful songs, powerful lyrics in the Christian faith, as this week's album provides.

I can't help to compare the beginning of the leadoff track, "Freedom Is Here" to that of the band Coldplay. Yet it has Hillsong United's sound as Christian, it is a powerful song to leadoff the album. "No Reason To Hide" is another powerful track. Likewise, the next track, "More Than Anything."

And, like many albums, there is a slowdodwn track, from all the excitement of the first three tracks. "King Of All Days" slows down the pace, in a good way, of course, and is another great tune. "Desert Song" returns back to the powerful, energetic, positive vibes of the Christian music genre again. Then, another pleasant sounding track follows - "Oh You Bring" - another beautiful track, blending well with the other songs from the album. Likewise, the same can be said as "Oh You Bring" for "Tear Down The Walls." Another great powerful track.

"Soon" is another beautiful ballad-like track, with it's piano driven sound, calming music and vocals. "You Hold Me Now" is another great ballad as well, yet it builds into another uplifting powerful song. "Arms Open Wide" starts out as a ballad-like track, and builds into another great powerful Christian track. The energy, powerful, uplifting sound returns (as heard in the first few tracks) on "Your Name High." Ending the album is "Yours Forever," and WOW! It has so much energy, as it has a more Rock sound (harder rock to point out, than any song heard throughout the album). What a way to end the album!

No doubt, Hillsong United's A Cross//The Earth :: Tear Down The Walls is a very POWERFUL album, throughout each track. It's very energetic, uplifting, positive. This is what Christian music is all about: That energy, powerful, uplifting sound. And with the positive lyrics of the Christian faith. You can't go wrong with the energy this album provides. Give it a listen. It's worth it.
