This week, K.D. Lang (k.d. lang) debuts this week, with Inénue (1992).

"Save Me" is a very peaceful, relaxing tune to lead off the album. Likewise, "The Mind Of Love" is another pleasing song, easily fitting soft-rock/Adult Contemporary. Her voice on this one is definitely more outstanding than the album's opener. Yet, no complaints on either of the first two songs. "Miss Chatelaine" was the second single from the album, and although I don't remember this track when the album was released, yet it's another pleasant sounding track. It's a very impressive track, and as the third song from the album, it keeps the great sounds flowing.

"Wash Me Clean" is a beautiful song, and it keeps the album as a relaxing listening experience. "So It Shall Be" is upbeat and lively. "Still Thrives This Love" has a more tropical sound, and again, it keeps you listening for more. "Season Of Hollow Soul" has a mystery sound, yet it kicks into another good sounding track. "Outside Myself" is another beautiful song in sound. "Tears Of Love's Recall" has a Jazz feel to it (as other songs). Beautiful.

If there is one song that is easily remembered by k.d. lang, it would have to be the song that they saved for last on this album: "Constant Craving." It 's a great song, and everyone should remember it, if they were listening to music in 1992. Especially on Chicago radio station WXRT. "Constant Craving" ends the album, and quite truthfully, it's a great, superb album.

k.d. lang had interests in Country music, and it's possibly that some of the songs on Ingénue could fit those Country formats. Likewise, Smooth Jazz. Like Country, some of the songs could fit the Jazz formats. This album also has comparisons to two Jazz artists - Diana Krall, and Norah Jones. With comparisons to those Jazz favorites, it's easy to say that this k.d. lang album would be a must to have.

Ingénue is a a great album to relax to, or having it play in the background while you work. Country, Jazz, and even Adult Contemporary formats would easily fit with this album. Enjoy this album, and add it to your collection. Especially for those relaxing moments.
