Joe Satriani returns this week, with his sixth album of his career, and seventh on WSVNRadio: The self-titled Joe Satriani, from 1995. Get ready for great music, from the legendary guitarist.

"Cool #9" is just that... Cool, and groovin'. "If" is another great instrumental jam. I can sense a Jimmy Page feel about it. "Down, Down, Down" is smooth, slow-driven, just right. "Luminous Flesh Giants" has a great Blues/Rock feel. Definitely the slow Blues feel is heard on "S.M.F." Great sounding Blues. "Look My Way" is an almost Country sound to it, and it has vocals by Joe Satriani. (Satriani is mostly an instrumentalist, and there are some albums where he does provide his own vocals.) And I can't help, but sing along the song "Tiger Man" on this one - "Well, I'm the king of the jungle, and they callll me Tiger Man."

The instrumental music returns on the light hearted sounding "Home." "Moroccan Sunset" is hoppin'. ANother great instrumental. "Killer Bee Bop" is spacey, almost psychedelic. "Slow Down Blues" is just that, slowed down, and has a great swamplike Blues feel. "(You're) My World" is a pleasant sound Rock styled track. It just fits well at this point of the album. "Sittin' 'Round" ends the album, as it is another great pleasant sounding track, ending this fantastic album.

Joe Satriani is best known for his instrumentals, and his album are basically that - Great instrumentals as Satriani displays himself as a great guitar legend. A few sprinkles of his vocals have been heard - my favorite is "Lifestyle" from his Is There Love In Space. It's another great Joe Satraiani album to listen to - the self-titled Joe Satriani. A guitar legend he is. Joe Satriani.
