From The WSVNRadio Hall Of Fame Volume 4...

Killingbird is one of the many bands from our Hall of Fame. Volume 4 has their song "Hitch A Ride" from their self-titled album, released in 2002. Killingbird was formed in 2001, in Los Angeles. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is their sound style.

Definitely Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, their self-titled album kicks into gear on "Not Long Dead." "Cocaine Tongue" continues that hard rock/metal sound. likewise, "Down From My Cloud." "Just Like Heaven" is a cover tune, originally by The Cure. It has a rougher edge than the original. The WSVNRadio Hall Of Fame Volume 4 track, "Hitch A Ride" is next, blaring straight out hard rock/heavy metal. "Maybe I'm Afraid" is quite good, as it slows down in places, and kicks in again into hard rock/metal.

"Little Flower" keeps it rocking, and another quite impressive track. "Sometimes You're Strange" isn't strange, it is just another kicking hard rock track. Likewise, "Better Day" is, you guessed it, another loud and brash hard rock tune. "Outta Mind" is another loud kicker, and another quite impressive track. "Slip" gets the acoustic touch, and it blends very well with this album. And ending the album is another loud rock track, "I Was So Wrong"

Nothing wrong with straight out Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. Killingbird's self-titled is just that. Marilyn Manson gets the comparison; it is loud, brash, straight hard rock. If you're in the mood for this genre, Killingird is the album. Their follow-up album was released in 2004, Waste Another Yesterday. Their third album, Scar was released in 2008. The band's lead singer, Christian: "We're just a dirty rock 'n' roll band!" Yes, "dirty" is a good word to describe their hard, loud, music. It's as dirty as it gets. If that's your kind of hard and loud music, Killingbird is for you.
