Smooth Jazz music returns this week, with the return of Sade on the WSVNRadio website. Her 2010 release Soldier
Of Love gets the nod this week. Sade's music has always been great, blending R&B and Smooth Jazz.
R&B definitely has the feel on the album's opener, "The Moon And The Sky." It's great music, as you do look
up to the moon and sky to listen. This song was one of the three singles from the album, and yes, this song surely
has that great quality to be a hit single. The title track is next, as it was also another single, and it reached #1
on Billboard's Smooth Jazz singles chart. The title track has more of a hip-hop flavor to it. "Morning Bird"
has the most beautiful piano sound. Smooth Jazz at its finest.
"Babyfather" was another single, and it has a Pop style, likewise R&B, and, it is very good; another deserving
hit single. "Long Hard Road" is one of those songs that has pure soul in it. It's smooth, moody, it has mystery,
and enjoyable. It easily could have been another hit single. "Be That Easy" has great vocalization. Another
artist that comes to mind on this one, is Norah Jones. "Bring Me Home" brings a Rock/Pop feel. "In Another
Time" has a Soul and Blues feel. Beautiful. If you're familar with Sade's past recordings, "Skin" has the
"Sade sound" that most would remember her by. It's truly a defined Sade song - Beauiful Smooth Jazz. Ending the album is
"The Safest Place," another song of beauty, and passion.
Once again, Sade provides a great album of beautiful, smooth jazz, R&B, soulful music. There's not a bad song on here.
This album also reached #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 albums chart. After listening to this album, it's a no-brainer, how
great this album is, and easily to hit the top of the albums chart. Her previous #1 album was
Promise. Just as that album,
Soldier Of Love is a must listen and a must to add to your collection.
