Country music continues this week, with a "Country King" - George Strait. It's his third appearance here on WSVNRadio.net. Twang would add another #1 Country album to his resume, in 2009. Four hit singles were from the album: "Living For The Night," "Twang," "I Gotta Get To You," and "The Breath You Take."

The title track leads the album, and it's quite a good Country tune, with a Rockin' feel. It's obvious it would be a hit single from the album. "Where Have I Been All My Life" is mellow, and it's another great Country tune. The reference to Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" is awesome: "I heard [What A Wonderful World] by Louis Armstrong. It brought a tear to my eye. After all these years I finally get the song. Where have I been all my life." "I Gotta Get To You" resembles a song that Toby Keith did: "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight." More great Country continues with the next tune, "Easy As You Go," and the mellow "Living For The Night."

Then it all kicks it up again, with "Same Kind Of Crazy," an easy song to line dance to. It just has that great Country sound, as heard on many Brooks & Dunn and John Michael Montgomery tunes. "Out Of Sight Out Of Mind" is another great mellow Country tune. "Arkansas Dave" is an old-fashioned Country song; it easily fits for this album. Another slow driven tune follows, "The Breath You Take." It's a bit more moody for a mellow song. But, this is Country music, and moody mellow Country tunes easily fits. More good Country continues again with "He's Got That Something Special." And talk about something different, and great... "Hot Grease And Zydeco" sounds like a Dr. John song, and wow, does George Strait performs it great! More mellow Country follows, and it has a given Country title - "Beautiful Day For Goodbye." Ending the album is a remake, by Latin artist JOse Alfredo Jimenez - "El Rey" (1971). It's another great tune for George, as his take on singing as a Spanish singer is quite impressive.

George Strait's "Twang" sure has that, and more. It's a great Country album, defining great Country music, as it should be. You can't go wrong with his music. He has proven again why they call him a "Country King" of Country music. Give Twang a listen. You'll easily enjoy great Country music, as it should be.
