The video started a nationwide trend, going viral. It wasn't the video by the artist himself, it was by regular people
dancing in their own ways to the song. Upon Google searches, that video belonged to Nathan Evans, and the video titled was
"Wellerman." It's a catchy tune, as it was sweeping the internet social medias all over the world. More Google
searches were on the hunt for Nathan Evans, and to see if there was any other music by him. This week, that album with
the famous "Wellerman" tune and 15 other tracks were on his album, Wellerman - The Album.
Nathan Evans is a Scottish singer, and started posting his videos on Tik Tok. He had posted "Leave Her Johnny,"
(which is included on the album), and others. They were videos of himself of the songs, yet it was "other individuals"
who were dancing to the "Wellerman" song, causing a huge popular trend on social medias.
Wellerman - The Album has 16 tracks, and they all are in the style of the famous "Wellerman" -- "Bully
Boys," "Bully In The Alley," "Drunken Sailor." "Leave Her Johnny" (like all the songs) are considered "folk music."
As "Leave Her Johnny" follows a more folk style, (although it matches the "Wellerman" style), than the
previous songs heard. And, like "Wellerman," "Leave Her Johnny" is a very well-recorded song, and one the album's
best tracks.
"Roll The Old Chariot" continues the "Wellerman" style, likewise does "The Last Shanty" (another
catchy tune), where a more folk-style returns on "Haul Away," "Wild Mountain Thyme," "Caledonia." "The Banks Of
Sacremento" returns back (in a sense) to the "Wellerman" style, and another catchy and head-boppin' tune.
"Shanty Man" definitely has that "Wellerman" style. Like many of the songs as folk, the vocal sounds could
also pass as Reggae (especially on "Shanty Man.' "Wagon Wheel" (yes, the Darius Rucker tune) is next, and it
sounds just as the Country song by Rucker - Folk/Country.
Remixes follow, with "Wellerman (220 Kid X Billen Ted Remix) and "Drunken Sailor (Harris & Ford Remix)."
Ending the album is "Santiano," another "Wellerman" comparison.
If you (really) like the "Welelrman" tune, you will enjoy the entire album. The traditional folk songs are
quite impressive, and could easily be the more standouts. Then there's the other songs; the catchy ones like
"Wellerman." Nathan Evans' vocals are also quite good. It has the Scottish accent, and quite honestly, the
folk sounds of each song does bring a very good sound, compared to the usual rap that is more popular these days.
Wellerman - The Album a very enjoyable album - enjoyed for those who enjoy "Wellerman."
