With Christmas 2003 just passed, WSVNRadio extends the holiday season by one week, in presenting its first Christmas album review, Joy To The World by Letia Nichols.

Letia Nichols is another artist, in which WSVNRadio promoted, and was originally featured on the WSVNRadio Hall of Fame, Volume 8 CD. "God Hasn't Forgotten You" was chosen by Nichols herself for the compilation, and was taken from her CD Greater Works. WSVNRadio has just released A WSVNRadio Christmas, and with Nichols' most recent release, we thank Ms. Nichols for her Christmas album, and becoming part of the WSVNRadio holiday compilation.

"The First Noel" is very well-done; very easy to recognize as the standard Christmas tune, yet in a new age jazz style. "Away In A Manger" has it's own unique new age jazz sound, giving it a new and fresh approach. "Bring A Torch" is an original (from my guessing), and it also has a fresh sound, and could easily fit the many new age jazz radio formats.

Once again, Nichols gives her unique sound to "O Come All Ye Faithful," (remix) and likewise a very impressive remix of "O Holy Night." "Angels We Have Heard On High" is very easy to recognize, likewise "We Three Kings"; these versions are well deserved to be included as part of any Christmas music radio format. Another impressive version, is "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" -- very smooth and relaxing. Nichols once again gives her own new age jazz style approach to "The Holly And The Ivy,"

Four Christmas classics are also given the special Nichols touch: A very beautiful rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," the moving "O Come Emmanuel," the orchestrated full-rich sound of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing," and a very unique jazz'd version of "Joy To The World", which was included on A WSVNRadio Christmas compilation.

Letia Nichols gives new meaning and a new sound to the Christmas classics contained on Joy To The World. Many have a very upbeat new age jazz sound, and others are very relaxing. An excellent choice for background music at any Christmas event, this release is highly recommended, and will definitely have listeners extending their ears, and wondering what talented person has put her own unique touches, to the Christmas classics.
